Brass Fittings

Brass compression fittings are mechanical connectors used to join pipes or tubes without the need for soldering, welding, or threading. They work by compressing an olive (ferrule) onto the pipe, creating a secure, leak-proof seal. These fittings are commonly used in plumbing, gas lines, and industrial applications due to their durability, corrosion resistance, and ease of installation.

Types of Brass Compression Fittings

  1. Brass Compression Coupling – Connects two pipes of the same or different sizes.
  2. Brass Compression Elbow – Allows for a 90-degree or 45-degree turn in the piping system.
  3. Brass Compression Tee – Connects three pipes, forming a T-junction for fluid distribution.
  4. Brass Compression Reducer – Connects pipes of different diameters.
  5. Brass Compression Stop Valve – Used to control fluid flow.
  6. Brass Compression Union – Allows easy disconnection and reconnection of pipes.
  7. Brass Bulkhead Compression Fitting – Used for passing pipes through walls or panels.

Sizes of Brass Compression Fittings

  • Standard sizes range from 1/8 inch to 2 inches for most applications.
  • Metric sizes range from 4 mm to 54 mm.
  • The fitting size is determined by the outer diameter (OD) of the tube or pipe being connected.

Applications

  • Plumbing & Water Supply – Connecting copper, PEX, or plastic pipes.
  • Gas Lines – Used in propane, LPG, and natural gas systems.
  • HVAC Systems – Refrigerant and cooling line connections.
  • Automotive & Hydraulic Systems – Fuel and brake line connections.
  • Industrial & Chemical Processing – Used for fluid and air transport in various industries.
